This was our first foray to an east coast exhibition and it was notably different from other shows in that the exhibitors were predominantly either process, component or module suppliers. Useful from our perspective in that all the RF power transistor manufacturers were there and happy to talk. Clearly GaN is the hot topic as this technology pushes into the power amplifier market in terms of cost and RF frequency - both are reducing.
Other noteworthy aspects were the latest transceiver technologies from ADI and TI; both are targetted with DPD applications in mind. Both are also competing with the latest Xilinx RFSoC - it will be interesting to see how this pans out.
