Objective
To supplement existing technical teams working on critical WCDMA and WiMAX projects coding in ‘C’ and assembler for a novel, state-of-the-art processor.
Approach
Due to project urgency and difficulty in defining discrete packages of work, it was agreed that Systems4Silicon would provide resources according to a pre-determined schedule. Since the customer already supported a remote working model, development tools were installed on Systems4Silicon facilities and a mutual revision control mechanism established. The work involved significant interaction with the customer’s engineers to establish requirements and integration details before and during the implementation phases.
Outcome
After the success of the initial contract, follow-on arrangements were drawn-up along similar lines.
Benefits
The customer secured continuity of system engineering and implementation skills without the overhead of defining and managing work packages to the detail that other out-sourcing options would require. Systems4Silicon’s background experience meant rapid integration and clear communications, both significant factors in the success of this type of engagement.
